The Green-Eyed Monster

So I finally watched Omkara...Yes the movie is definitely good, all the actors were quite good (even kareena was decent). But, was it worth being sent to the oscars (lets not even talk about the one being actually sent - Rang de Basanti)....Well one thing about the movie is that it would definitely lose half its charm if seen with subtitles (minus the 'bhaiyaa' language complete with all the obsceneties), which is how the jury at the oscars would be seeing it.
However, the movie has been very well made, and the best part is, there has been no effort to portray any one character as the 'hero' of the film and the theme has been brought forward in its true essence. No effort to try and show a typical happy bollywood ending.
Ajay Devgan ofcourse, has been shown as the protagonist, but not the hero. Easily being manipulated by Saif (who seems to have given the performance of his lifetime), he ends up losing everything to the green-eyed monster.
Lets see what happens with Rang de Basanti at the Oscars.

Yep the men in blue have done it once again.....gave a seemingly boring one-sided match some 'tickets-worth-the-money' twists and turns towards the end....no doubt the wicket was becoming unpredictable, but i am sure a team like australia would've finished the game atleast 5 overs and some 3-4 wickets earlier...

And if we hope to win another world cup, thats the team we gotta benchmark ourselves against...
However the good news is, Sachin seemed to be in an okay sorta form. Dravid and Sehwag, though, still seem to be in a hurry to get back to the dressing room.
I guess my parting words should be ...HU HA INDIA, (H)AAYA INDIA...
